I love Firefox but and have always wished I could have it running on my mobile devices.  Sure Opera Mobile is really good but it’s not Firefox.  Mozilla has been working on Firefox Mobile for a very long time, forever it seems, but word is coming out that a real alpha version is just weeks away.  Now, don’t forget that alpha version means "might trash your phone" but if that’s what it takes to get Firefox Mobile moving along to final version then we’ll do what we have to. 

From Mozilla CEO John Lilly in an interview by Linux Insider:

We want to make sure that theWeb on mobile is more like the Web than what the mobile industry offerstoday, which is closed, separate networks and not a very goodinformation-getting experience for the user. The first thing is tobring Firefox to mobile devices. We’re working on that, and we’ll seesome alphas in a few weeks.

He didn’t elaborate on which platforms or phones we’d see alphas but we’re not picky.  Just get them to us, John.
