HAVA offers content place-shifting for Nokia Internet Tablets

Havanokian810

This mobile news tidbit sat around my desk for the past few weeks, so you may have caught it elsewhere by someone covering CTIA. The folks at Monsoon demonstrated a Nokia N800, N810 software client for their HAVA hardware. HAVA is similar to the Slingbox as it can capture, encode and send digital media signals over the Internet. With a HAVA box, you can watch and control your home television, DVR, cable or satellite box remotely. Sling Media doesn't yet have a Nokia Internet Tablet client, so this one from Monsoon looks to be going after that market.

Since you need a reasonably fast wireless broadband connection, the HAVA client for Nokia Internet Tablets is likely going to work best with a 3G phone. Of course, the WiMAX edition of the N810 ought to work really well in a service area also. Check out how nice the interface is for touch in ThoughtFix's video right here.
