Dynamism offers Tablet upgrade for the new Sony UX models
Dynamism is offering all the various models of the UX Micro PC line from Sony including taking pre-orders for the newest Japanese model with the 32 GB Flash Drive (SSD). Eagle-eyed jkOTR reader Keith Heard spotted this interesting item in the software accessory list:
Dynamism must have some special arrangement with Microsoft as I have never seen any reseller nor OEM offer the Tablet Edition as an upgrade on any device. The pricing of $200 is rather odd too.

Eagle-eyed is stretching it, it's mentioned on the main page of the site :) I was just doing my bi-weekly adding of a P990i to my shopping cart before sighing and closing the tab.

I thought I was the only one who did that? :)

can this upgrade be installed to any UMPC with XP PRO? I think that it can be done.

Frank I don't know for sure but I don't think so. I would think that the OEM license would require buying the hardware from the vendor, in this case Dynamism. I am trying to get clarification on that already as an upgrade like this has never been offered by resellers before.

One other thing- all UMPCs have the Tablet Edition already installed, that's part of the design reference. Just to clarify for the readers.

Actually I just noticed that the P990i price is now $650, which is down from the $1000 pricetag I've seen every other time...I had to walk away from the computer for a few minutes before I could clear the cart!
