Autodesk- now Tablet PC compatible

CAD king Robin Capper has pointed to a presentation by Autodesk showing off the capabilities of their latest version. It's a long presentation but is fascinating to watch what they can do in real-time with complex 3D models. But that's not why I'm pointing to it, the new version works with the Tablet PC for field design referral, changes, and wireless updating of plan changes. The Autodesk folks show a live demonstration of the capabilities of the program when used in the field on a Tablet PC. Very nice stuff. The big presentation file (recommended) is a whopping 465 MB but it's worth it. The Tablet PC demonstration comes in at about 43 minutes but the entire show is so interesting you should not miss it.

Hi JK, Just to be clear the demo shows some Autodesk release products and some concepts that may/maynot become products.

The viewer shown on the Tablet PC is Autodesk Composer with Design Web Format (DWF) files. You can try DWF Viewer: a free DWF viewer which allows all the actions shown, except markup.

More on the DWF Viewers, DWF Writer (printer) and the DWF format (inc sample files) at:

PS: I added runtimes to my post with details on the products/concepts shown
